When tackling a new and difficult book, we shouldn't stop to search for any unknown references, litteracy or foreign words. This will break the flow, and we'll lose the forest for the tree. We're better writing things down and come back (or not) to it later (see [Zeigarnik effect](Zeigarnik%20effect.md)).
